Locally sourced food
At our hotel, you will enjoy a unique dining experience based on local and organic ingredients, offering high-quality food, thoughtfully prepared with an emphasis on flavor and sustainability. Our focus on locally sourced food and the zero-waste principle makes it a sustainable choice for all guests.
Farm to Fork Dining
Here at Granavolden, we follow a farm-to-fork ethos. We put an emphasis on quality and taste, using local suppliers to ensure fresh and sustainable ingredients. Our meat comes from Brandbu, the local butcher and charcutier, who have won several national awards for their products. Try the røket fjordgris, or smoked pork, prized for its high quality, rich flavor, and tender texture. It’s made from pigs that have been sustainably raised among the clean and natural surroundings of the local fjords. We source our fruit, vegetables, grains, bread, eggs, and dairy products from nearby farms like Helgum Farm. This supports the local economy and reduces the environmental impact of transportation. Try the local cheeses like Rød Ku, a semi-firm, washed rind cheese made from pasteurized cow’s milk and matured for 3-5 months, giving it a distinctive creamy, savory, nutty flavor.
“As a chef, it’s fantastic to work with produce from local suppliers and with ingredients that don’t look like they were processed in a factory. Knowing that these are homemade products of exceptional quality, that someone has put a lot of time into, makes me both proud and humble.”
